Introduction:
Since being founded in 1996, Otterbox has developed a reputation for producing high quality protective cases for individuals who like to push themselves and their equipment to extremes. Although the original Otterboxes were box-like cases for protecting valuables during outdoor adventures such as hiking, camping, fishing, and boating, the company, in recent years, has expanded into the ever-changing world of technology by producing cases for PDA’s, notebook computers, and even iPods. Knowing the reputation that Otterbox has for producing such cases, I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to test one of their latest products, the Otterbox Rugged Laptop Case.
Imagine, if you will, taking your brand new $3000 laptop computer on your weeklong whitewater rafting trip so you can watch Seinfeld re-runs in bed. Although most of us would have a coronary just at the thought of such foolishness, Otterbox fans know better. Thanks to the latest development, the Otterbox Rugged Laptop Case, this is not only possible, it is also very feasible.
Description:
In keeping with the great Otterbox tradition, the Otterbox Rugged Laptop Case presents all the traditional characteristics that has made this company so successful: being waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof. In fact Otterbox claims the Laptop Case to be so strong that a person could stand on it. Although designed for notebook computers, the case can also accommodate tablet pc’s or any other item you want to protect from the environment. The case will accommodate and protect units up to(with the standard bumpers): 14.2″ (361 mm) wide x 11.2″ (284 mm) deep x 1.9″ (48.3 mm) thick. External dimensions are:
16.375″ (416.9 mm) x 14.5″ (368.3 mm)x 3.375″ (85.7 mm).
