![]() As a user of various PDA’s, I have always felt that covers for PDA’s have been very expensive or very low in quality. I have recently been in contact with a company called Covertec. They have sent me a sample to review and also evaluate for the Canadian marketplace. I have been skeptical before receiving the sample on the actual quality of the cover. Their website, www.covertec.com is professionally created and the cover images are also as impressive. This being said, I have been disappointed with products in the past when dealing with glossy images alone. I was very surprised to see when the sample arrived, Covertec had gone to extreme lengths to produce and package their covers. The cover is packaged in a presentation box which is form sealed in clear hard plastic. |

![]() Once opening the package, I had a chance to feel and see the detailed workmanship. First the quality of the leather stands out. Second the quality of the stitching. Third, the snug fit around the iPAQ while retaining all the exit ports for the headphones, ac adapter and the expansion port are excellent. Forth, a magnetic loop closure for a secure fit without excessive wear. A removable screen protector sleeve is an added bonus. Certainly a well thought out design. The cover really has an aesthetic look and does not add too much bulk to the original size of the Ipaq.

The
cover is stitched with a U shaped bar inside to maintain the PDA’s snug
fit. Typically leather will stretch and loosen over time but this cover
should be tight fitting for a long time. The actual stitching is called
overstitching by the manufacturer and is very strong.
The logo molded onto the cover is a real nice accent to the whole design.

The only issue with the cover is that there is no provision for users of an expansion sleeve like myself at this time. The design and quality of the Covertec cover is excellent and well worth the cost of $39.95 USD. The covers come in black, tan or red depending on the style or PDA you own. Various types from PocketPC, Palm, T-mobile, Garmin and the Apple iPod plus others are available. Take a look at www.covertec.com for more details on the various covers available from Covertec. |

Cons No provision for users of the Ipaq expansion sleeve. Addition of a belt clip maybe a great feature. Pros Solid workmanship and quality. Snug Fitting. Wide variety available for corporate buyers and resellers. I rate this product 9.6 of 10. The product is a great value at $39.95 USD. Check out the manufacturers website for more details. You will not be disappointed. Covertec |
